My latest project is a hickory backed jatoba board bow. I'm hoping to get 70#'s from this one and I need to be really careful on the tillering. When you guys begin tillering, do you simply work the entire limb, or the inner 1/3 or the outer 1/3 first? So far in my 15-20 bows under my belt, I have just started by working the entire limb and fine tuning it as I see problems develop. Is there a more preferred method?
Thanks in advance!

It depends. I floor tiller, then long string tiller and then string it when it is ready. There are buildalongs on my site. Jawge

I usually stay off the fads and the outer 6 to 8 inches of the limb till I get close to weight and draw length then finish up there. If you get set or hinge at the fads it shows up a lot of string follow
if you get it moving to much in the outer 1/3 of the limb it will wind up whip tillered, neather are what I want. I don't stay off completely just go lighter there. Clear as mud. :) :)
