Title: More "Stuff"
Post by: FlintWalker on December 11, 2009, 04:30:06 pm
Here's a couple Dalton points and a Sonora blade I made this week.   I don't know exactly what type you'd call that first one...just a Dalton I guess ???
The second one is supposed to be a Sloan Dalton. It ain't exactly right, but as soon as I get hold of some more rock I'm gonna try again.
That Sonora blade'll probably get hafted onto something tonight.  It'll probably end up under somebody's Christmas tree. :-\

Dang, do you do anything except perfect points?  ;D  Those are awesome!

Hey, are you planning on being at the next classic?

Two things I want to see.... you knocking out one of those "little" points and him running those little diagonal flakes. That will be well worth the price of admission.

If the Lords willing and the creeks don't rise...I'll be there!
Steven, no perfection here. Plus, you don't see all the ones I screw up. ::)

Yea, I guess it isn't really perfect... I think I see one flake out of place.  ::)  Hey I have a tree that thing would look really nice under.  Someone is going to be real happy this Christmas.   Oh yea, bring your marble making kit!

Steven, I used to make LOTS of marbles. But I don't have much equipment any more.  I have a buddy that has a roll around outfit that I'm gonna try to borrow from him to bring with me. I think a few of the fellas down there would like to see how it's done, so they can make good use of those little chunks of pretty flint that usually gets thrown away.

I'll have to say, that was one tough little booger to make.
It was better, but I clipped part of the base off trying to notch it.  It had a pretty little dovetail base. :(

Sweet work Shannon, & if that`s not quite perfection, it`d be close enough for most of us out here.
I`d love it if any of mine looked nearly that good.

What Jamie said. :) Daltons are one of my favorite styles, and you make 'em look good. Nice Agee, too.

I would call that way better than "Stuff".  Stuff is something you step in and hope you get it all cleaned off your shoe before you walk on the carpet.  Stuff is also un-named junk that has built up in the attic or garage. I'd say you have the right stuff working to turn out points like those.

Those points are fine & a pleasure to look at.  Beautiful work!
