I have built an osage bow 64'' long pulling 45lbs @30''. I plan on giving it to a friend and am a bit worried. Do yall normally back a bow if your gonna give it away? The bow shows no sign of anything wrong I just thought it would add a little extra safety. Thanks.

If I were building one 64 and a 30 inch draw I would probably back it with at least rawhide. That is a pretty long draw for 64 inch length. :) even for Osage. :)

Yeah it was gonna be a recurve and I goofed. So I had to do some creative engineering. It starts to stack hard just after 30'' but man it zings an arrow. The limbs are just over 1 1/2'' wide until 8'' from the tips. I was hoping that would be wide enough to offset the short length.

I'd back it with rawhide; 64" length for 30" draw is a lot!

Ditto. Rawhide would be good insurance.
