just the facts. 66" ntn 52# @ 27" maple board bow in a pyramid design. 2" at the fades tapering to .5" tips. the overlays and riser are bocote and paduk. I used super glue to finish the oily woods before 3 coats of spare urethane. the maple is stained with a light walnut dye. Its been realy cold to shot outside but so far its doing great.

Thanks Jawge I was trying to place where that was from ;D some of us are old enough to know ::)

Jack Web was Joe Friday and Harry Morgan was his side kick, Keenan. Can't recall his name in the show. He went on to play Col Potter in Mash. Just looked it up. Morgan played Officer Bill Gannon. Great show. BTW there were 2 incarnations of that show. One was in the 50's and one in the 60's. I remember both. I'm old. :) Jawge

Beautiful! I love maple board bows.
-
Nice bow, I have gotten to where I prefer a maple board over most anything anymore unless I just want to make a bow from a stave. Steve
-
Looks good. I really like the contrast of the three woods.
-
Bring back old memories Jawges :),Nice bow I love the wood combo.Nice work, looks like a keeper. :)

Are the limbs tapered in thickness, or the same thickness from fades to tips (as pyramid bows are usually done)? Again, fantastic looking bow!
-
Yup, Pappy. Thank God most of them are good memories! We used to sit together and watch Dragnet as a family while I was growing up (Did I?). Pardon my digression, Sulphur. Seems like you got this board bow making down pat. You do good work. Even better you seem to like passing it on. :) Jawge

Great looking bow sulphur, maple is a great bow wood eh :)
-
hey that is great...you cant go wrong with a board bow..i have a red oak board that i should get started on some time..john

Ntprof- although my pyramids start out a uniform thickness, when tillering is done its a bit thinner as you get towards the tips. maybe like a 1/16 of an inch difference from fade to tip.
Jawge no problem, even i have seen dragnet (re-runs) today someone i work with brought up romper room and the electric company as shows he watched as a child. of course i watched them too. this guy has quite a lot of gray hair. not saying his age but i think he watched Dragnet too!! :o :o
Thanks for the comments guys. I tried to take a few weeks break, but just couldn't stand it!! what else can you do when its below freezing outside??
-
Thanks, Sulphur, and again, beautiful bow!
-
Nice job Sulphur! I like maple too. You have a good looking bow there with those wood combos. Congratulations! :)

That is a nice bow. Wish I could shoot it. Wish I could shoot my new bow but there is too much snow around here. Got your neat weapon all bookmarked under January Self Bow for BOM, too.
