Still a bit too heavy, but I have the limbs bending well at a quick low brace. The good news is that I am getting very little set and string follow from the floor tillering and the short sessions on the tillering tree up till this point. I know I have a ways to go, but this one is looking good so far!

Let's see it bend ;D

Let's see it bend ;D
what he said and some specs on it too would be nice ;)

A couple of more pics ...
the brace is now 5.5 inches, and the draw is to 24 inches. I know that right limb needs to bend a little more!
BTW: 65" NTN and around 1.5 inches at the fades going down to .4 inches at the nocks. I am unsure of the weight ... I don't have a scale. Feels like high 50's at 26 inches.

looking pretty good, and yup a little on the right limb
if you have a bathroom scale, non digital one,you can check draw weight with that.that all i use cause i am to checp to buy a bow scale

Looks like you are getting there Scrub_buck.

If that bow was mine, I'd make it bend a bit more right out of the fade on the right limb.
-
I would also take and get the Limbs both Bending more right out of the Fades...and as for the right limb needing to Bend more...I don't think so...just work the first third out of the Fades...but go slow...and don't take too much at a Time.

Looks great. If yo need more than a couple inches of draw then do as El says. Jawge

More pics. .. I am very close, but there still seem something a little wacky about that right limb.
6 1/4 brace ...
24" draw ....
28.5 " draw

I think you're on the right track, but GO SLOW! A couple of scraps can make a big difference. I'd call it a bow.
-
How much set has it taken 1.5 '' is a little narrow for hickory. And the bow is a little short for that width.
-
Strongbow ... It has taken maybe 3/4 of and inch of set and maybe 1 to 1.5 inches of S. Follow. It started with just a hair of reflex in both limbs, now unstrung, it shows just a little backset and the limbs arch with just a smidgen of follow.
I know it was pushing it ... I am making this for a friend and he has a 28 to 28.5 inch draw. It was the best I could do with the stave. It is working nicely now, but the shoot-in will tell the tale. I hope to get it shooting this week. Maybe it will hold together.
I am planning on shooting it some this week and seeing how the limbs look afterwards. If everyhting stays the same, I hope to work that right limb slightly ... but if it doesn't smooth out really quick, I am going to call it finished.
Thanks again and i will post picks after the shoot in.
