Just started shooting these two totally different bows. First one is linen canvas backed maple out of a 11/4" wide board I had. First bow out of hard maple and I like the wood. 68" tip to tip and 46 lbs at 28". Just your basic D bow. The other is BBI re/de that is 67" tip to tip and pulls 49 lbs at 28". They both snap arrows in pretty hard. Sure is a lot of difference in the making process. The D bow took about four hours and the re/de took about sixteen hours start to finish.

Both bookmarked under January Self BOM and Jan Laminate Bow of the Month, respectively. Great shapes!

Nice tiller on both bows, I especially like the reflex/deflex

Nice bows, Grunt. When tillering the reflex deflex, on your next one, scrape the limb so the bend comes out straight. You will be using more limb and getting more performance out of it. Think of a "V".

Nice bows.
I especially like the D bow. They are just my favorite. How thick did you end up at the grip area on that bow?
-
Nice bows, Great tiller on that D bow.
-
Thanks for the comments on limb shape Mullet. I am starting to tiller one tomorrow and will use your suggestion.
Traxx, the board was 5/8 so I didn't have much depth so I couldn't narrow the handle. Had to keep it 11/4 wide. It shoots hard and true as long as I cant the bow.
First go round with hard maple and I like it and after getting the new PA yesterday I'm just going to have to make some carved D bows.

Both of them look great - that D has a beautiful profile, for sure. Way to go!
-
Nice bows alright. I too love the D.
-
Grunt,
I was guessing by the pic, that it was a bit thinner, thats why i asked.1&1/4 is just where i like em.Any narrower, and i wanna grip em too much.
-
Well done, Grunt. Nice bows. Jawge

Nice bows! The simple D-bow with slight bend in the handel is my favorite design right now.
-
Gotta love them D bows. Great job on some good lookin' bows.
