Hi
A bow making friend of mine has just made a Rhodedendron bow. He seemed to be impressed with the woods
qualities for bow making. One more wood type to add to my list for future projects!

I have done holly, acts like a very pliable maple, it works and i made a pretty bow from it but its tough to get any weight from it and not really worth a lot of time.   but give it a try, never hurts to try new things, maybe yours would work better that mine.  just keep it wide and flat and you should be fine
