Really i was right in the middle of a 10 day migraine when i started this bow. One day i was determined not to let pain control my life. I had bought a good cherry board a few weeks ago after the "hickory backed cherry- why so fast?" thread i posted. So on day 4 of the migraine from hell i went into my shop cut a Ash backing and cherry blank and glue them up with 1" of reflex. after that day i don't remember much, i ended up in the hospital getting intravenious drugs. Today i felt good enough to get back at it. So here it is 66" ntn 53# @ 27". 1.5" wide to 7/16 tips. the ash backing is qtr sawn and .130" thick. I got to say after about 50 shots this bow is as fast as my fiberglass bow of the same weight. May not stay that way after its shot in good. I was really careful while tillering to keep it from chrysaling. Man what a looker too!!! the riser and tips are canary wood. Only a few pics for now, its upstairs in my fancy drying room. its about 40 outside right now and nothing will dry in that.

You have my utmost respect for working on that thing with a migrane. I get them about twice a year and it's a show stopper. The phone goes off, the windows get closed, the door gets locked and I lie there like death untill it goes away. Horrible horrible pain. That is amazing! Glad you got it done! Looks nice too!
-
alll i can say is thank God for modern chemistry! O:)
-
Sorry about your migranes but nice job with the cherry!!
-
This is mostly finished, need to buff it out and put some velcro on the self. I tell ya, if you can get cherry to hold together it makes fast bow.

I'm happy to see someone keep a cherry bow in one piece long enought to shoot it. You did an excellent job on that one, it's a looker for sure, and sounds like it's a shooter, too.

Gorgeous bow! I like the overlay on the back too. Looks like an excellent job you did...I couldn't imagine doing anything, much less getting it right while I have a migrane! I have enough trouble without a headache. ;)

ok these are the absolute final pics. 4 coats of urethane and i shot it about 100 times. It kept getting smoother and smoother. sorry Hillbilly i think its goin to hold together. I shot a short video as proof. still needs a little tuning but still groups them pretty well.
