I think you misordered the weather. I specifically said 74-76 degrees.... any cooler than that and Pappy will need to get the bonfire going for the women and those of you that act like women... AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! >:D

It's just a Ploy, silly, to talk someone into snugglin' ;D

What Mullet said...those that act like women are just using the "I'm cold" excuse to get closer to the women who actually are...cold that is. ;D If you don't drink much, like me for instance...you're very apt to get cold! ;)
-
Guess you will just have to get closer to the fire Greg.... O:)
-
better to need a fire to warm than to dry out ;D
-
Well, I made one small change. Ya'll have got me spoked with all the talk about rain and waking up with 3 or 4 inches of water in your tent. I didn't want to wake up to find I was floating on a raft instead of a blow up matress. So I decided to buy a cot and spleeping bag. I should be good for at least 8 or 10 inches of water. ;D

I'll be sure to bring a cup with a lid so the rain don't mess up my wine.
-
Those of us who go every year have evolved vestigal gills. They come in handy with the rain, and then you don't breath as much silica dust from the knapping pit, either.
-
Steve, when are you planning on arriving (or are you already there)?
-
When you see the first thunderstorm on the weather map you'll know hillbilly made it. ;D
-
Unfortunately, Eddie's dead on. It starts raining like a cow peeing on a flat rock every year the very minute that I pull up. We'll be down about dark Thursday afternoon.
-
So at dark I need to remember to have the camp squared away and hatches in place? ;)
Looking forward to chippin with ya Hillbilly. 8)
-
I hate to break it to you fellers...but it'll start in rainin' bout 11:30 tomorrow night ::) That's if I don't get caught up in any traffic jams :o

I'll be there around Dark-Thirty tonight....I didn't even rate a Good Bye this Morning....Wife came Home from Work and went straight to Bed without even waking Me up to say a thing........ :(
-
See you in the morning, I hope. ;)

I'll be waiting..... >:D

Well..........It rained! :o

I'd say it rained....about washed Nashville away.... it washed Yazoo's pots and stuff down the Creek.n...but remember....it was the 13th Annual Tennessee Classic...and I Survived It.... >:D
-
lol I was thinking I'd be smart and put my little tent on the upside of the hill. Had a half-inch opening on my rainfly and woke up with my feet in about 2in of water ::) At that point, the wife was pining for me so I just called it a day and packed up. At least there was a really nice light show!
-
You home EL D?
-
Almost as much rain as fun! Just 365 more days ;D

360 for Me....... >:D
Update.....:.just entered Oklahoma..... so far....so good.....
-
just got home had a blast every thing i had is wet can't wait till next year.
-
Well..........It rained! :o
Yep, it rained just a bit. Not a good sign when you get home and all that's on the national news is footage of the place you just left. I don't know of anywhere else you could go through 14" of rain in two days and still have a great time, though. Another great year, rain and all.

Steve, Where did y'all hit the interstate? We got on in Carthage Tn.
-
We hit it around Lebanon, I think we came through that same cell with the tornado, too. It was looking pretty hairy there for a few minutes. How'd you like that big bridge on 49 or 52 or whatever it was with the water running a few inches under it and you could feel it shaking as you were driving across?
-
sunny and cool every day 0 chance of rain high 65 low 45 every day,, :o
;D ;D
-
Just as we were about to cross that bridge both Wade and I looked just in time to see a big tree get sucked under it. Was a bit hairy just crossing it. The road to Lebanon was closed when we tried to go that way so we went a bit more east to Carthage. There is some beautiful country in that part of Tenn that we would have missed seeing otherwise on the interstate. I'd bet without all the water it would be even more beautiful.
...oh! and it was very sunny under the shelter of the working area at the Classic. ;D 8)
-
I've used highway 70N a number of times to bypass traffic on the interstate. It's really nice country, especially further east into the hills.
-
ok I missed the forcast alittle, but on the bright side the carp were comming up in the parkin lot this morning ;D
-
;D ;D ;D
-
We crossed that bridge after y'all. The water was lapping at the bottom and the bridge was shaking. We made it past the Little Barren River just before they shut everything down and started evacuations because of a dam they thought would fail.

When I left Sunday morning I was ok until I got to Nashville on I40. Freeway closed a couple miles ahead of me and I was sitting up on the freeway stuck with everyone else. There was an on ramp about a mile in from of me and people started going down the on ramp. The shoulder soon became a new lane as people headed for the on ramp. I got in line with them and exited I40 right next to OpryLand hotel. Water everywhere! I was able to pull up the roads via GPS on my iPhone and see the bad roads. Took me a couple hours to travel through downtown Nashville to get to the other side and was able to eventually get back up on I40 past the flooding. About a half hour out of Nashville it started clearing up and within an hour I traveling in sunshine. I felt pretty luck to get through Nashville, especially after getting home and seeing the pictures.
Hillbilly said it would rain like a cow pissing on a flat rock. Well, that was a lot of piss! I have only seen it rain that hard once in my lifetime and that was during the middle of a 200 MPH typhoon while stationed on Guam.
