Title: already got a new i dea
Post by: larze_fat on May 20, 2010, 07:24:59 pm
I just finished my first bow a couple of months ago hickory backed cherry board bow. I had a piece of cherry left and stared to think... hey, its to short to make a one piece bow but i could rip it in half and spice it... or make a take down. I'm thinking that it will be about 66 inches tip to tip, 1 7/8 inches from handle to about mid limb then tapering to 1/2 inch at the tips. My first one was 35 lbs at 26 in, I'm wondering if I can bump it up to 45-50 lbs. And this one will be be hickory backed. Does this plan sound like its going to work?

From what I have seen cherry likes to fret but makes a snappy bow.
