Started out the morning waiting on Parnell, he was running late and we put Eddies 8 yrs old grandson up to giving him a hard time, lol
no cameras were taken on this secret trip. Only my camera phone captured the insitu of Parnell with his HUGE head. Our river conditions werent as we liked, it poured here last night and the river came up about 2 ft and visibility wasnt that great.
He took awhile to get into the groove of things while Eddie and I were piling them on. He did score some killer blue coral heads and some Ledge. Clouds started roilling in and we headed back and I told them to follow me to my house which is right down the road from the river. Showed him what a coral pile looks like and gave him some of my chert I find with my coral from the creek, its just like the ledge but brown and needs no heat.Threw some PINHEAD coral in also. Had another good day on the river.
Roger was absent from this trip and we all felt the void left by him not being there. htis is OUR secret spot and we felt in violation of it without him, ok nuff of that sappy crap
These pictures are of my haul and Eddie and Parnell will have to add theirs when they get home

Glad yall found some, that ledge is some nice stuff.Looks like that coral put a smile on Steve's face.Hopefully I'llbe able to make a run whith yall before the rains begin
-
it is POURING here right now. I will bet the river will go up even more tonight. I know you dont want to hear that.

Here's a few pictures of our haul, mine, Matt's and some of Jeff's. And also a few pictures of the coral at Jeff's house. I think one of our rock hunting buddies found that big head before. They came to the same conclusion we did. It was too big to lift and we had nothing big and heavy enough to spall it out without destrying it. Matt did the same I think Rick did, rolled it back into deep water to hide it till next time. >:D

I really didn't know that this was a conspiracy! Ha ha!
I had a great day yesterday, what a great opportunity to do something completely new to me and have such awesome results and you guys couldn't be more gracious hosts to show a greenhorn around and how it's done.
It sure is some beautiful stuff - here are some pictures that I just took.
Ya'll are some good ole boys. You have my sincere respect and gratitude.
Thanks,
Parnell

There should be rules about posting this stuff. It's like showing pictures of candy to a diabetic. Cruel... really cruel. I think to make it up to people you should have to share! :) So just so yoiu know, I would be happy with a few flakes. Man that is some good looking stuff and I think you have just about all the colors in the ranibow covered. Can't wait to see what you find in the middle of those coral heads.
-
Hey, I'm headin down to northern Florida in a couple weeks, where are you guys located. I don't want to steal any rock or horn in on secret spots, but might be able to do some tradin. Sure would be nice to swap for some of that exotic lookin stuff.
-
How long do you guys let this stuff dry out before cooking the spalled flakes?
-
I let mine dry about a week.
-
or youcan put them in your roaster gimmick and dry them at 200 for a day or 2, if they are not some huge fat slab/spall
Eddie, did your wife like the cab?
-
Jeff, she sure did. Kathie said thank you very much.
