TwinOaks Bowhunters will be hosting The 2nd Annual IBO Trad. world at our range this year.July 16/17/18 -2010 Primitive camping ,just like the TN. Classic. There will be 4 ranges,3 20 target ranges for the world shoot and 1 25 target Hunter challenge/practice range to shoot all weekend. It won't be just like the Classic but a lot of the same stuff will be going on.Lots of good vendors for all your needs so if you get a chance come see us. For info contact me,here or home after 6pm
931-362-3714 or work before 11am 615-313-4639. I will send a schedule and flier with more info and directions. :) Hope some can make it,it will probably be hot ,but more than likely dry. ;) :) :)
The IBO is the International Bowhunters Organization, so there should be people from around the world to meet and visit with.We plan on showing them some good old Southern hospitality.  :) :)

I know it's a long trip and completely understand, seem they didn't have a very good showing for selfbow last year so I hope some of my selfbows buds will show up and show them what a real bow looks  and shoots like.  ;) :) :)

It's been in the 100's and severe storms for the last two weeks here...not a lot of Rain....few inches total...mostly damaging Hail and Winds...my Yard looked like Fall this Morning when I go Home from Work....so many leaves were stripped off the Trees from Hail

Ya that would be our luck,to have something like that happen, first a 500 year flood ,then a hail storm. Man you have ruined my day just thinking about that. :)

Pappy do you suspect alot of people camping or do they do hotels for this type of shoot . Me and Steve are coming, just not sure if we're tenting it or borrowing a pop up. I broke my cot at Cloverdale, I hate those things, this is the third one, and it was heavy duty. We might look into the hotel thing, where's the closest one, over by Walmart. Coming Thursday and leaving Sunday. Will you be serving food all three days. And do we need to bring our shower set up. Do you have many staying at the cabin that weekend, maybe me and Steve can get cabin privileges for the Shoot in trade for working in the Concession Stand? Oh well, I'll call you.   Brother Dan

If you would quit falling in the cot it would probably hold up better. ;) ;D ;D ;D We will have
the portable shower set up for sure, the nearest motels are at exit 11 and Miss Joanie has
talked them into a discount,at least the Quality inn ,I think 59 a night if you tell them you are coming in for the TwinOaks IBO world.I ant sure on the cabin,I know I have Gary,Shanon,Art,
Beau and Myself,That would leave 2 beds up stairs. If I haven't told anyone else that I am forgetting about. The main problem with that many in the cabin is the bathroom is not set up for that many folks at one time. Let me check and maybe we can work it out. I thought you was kidding earlier when you mentioned it. :) Also Thunder nose needs a sock in his mouth if he stays there,I have
to have a little sleep. ;) ;D ;D ;D

Pappy, It's going to be a great shoot and experience for Twin Oaks , Me and Maw had planed to be there and check out all the fun and put a woopen on some of those IBO dudes and dudettes. I don't mean to cry, but I can't break away for this one . A friend and a RC radio control builder is coming from Wisconson and has spent a year building me a giant scale plane and is going to deliver it that week and I'll need to spend time with that project.  Maw and me are going to be in Nashville Aug 6, for our grandsons wedding, so we were going to goof off from the IBO shoot till the wedding and visit Fiddler Ray after in West Tenn. Bear, If you shoot the bow that you built with Dave Knight and shoot it as good as you did in Presque Isle you'll be in the money.. I would of loved to watch some of the heavy hitters that shoot the traditional IBO. Next year me and Maw's schedule will be all about us (I HOPE) I'd like to do the IBO and then do Pats campout shoot . I think the thread said that is is about an hour east of Ashville NC. Don't forget to give Pappy a great big Bear Hug.. Chuck

Ya I think it is going to be fun, hope to have a good selfbow showing. They didn't have many last year so hope we can draw more.I feel sure we will. Selfbows and TwinOaks just kind of go together
and we always seem to draw more than most anywhere I have been. We are trying hard to keep the taste of the Classic in this shoot with just a little more interest in the completive side.Hopefully we can pull it off,we don't want it to turn out to be like a golf tourney. ;) :) :) If that happens we won't be involved with it after this. We are hoping to make it fun for all that show up and get a little taste of what we think Trad/Primitive archery should be like. Nothing wrong with competition
but keep it fun.  :) :) The courses are going to be outstanding,we have really put some time in
them to look natural and fun shots to boot.I hope everyone likes it.I always hate the rain at the Classic cause not many get to really enjoy or ranges. It may be hot but at least it should be dry
for this one. :) It's only a couple of weeks a way so if you get a chance grab your selfbow and come on down. Tina you need to be there,a big gold belt buckle would look good on you.  :) :)

Go to the category "Primitive Skills"  the topic should be somewhere near the top called "Life is Good"  Go to the last page of the topic, I think there are over 300 pages now...  :)

Sorry bout that just erased my story....... First of all I would like to thank Pappy and his Great Crew for putting on a grand shoot for all those who attended this years event. I was really impressed with the first rate operation that Pappy has here at twin Oaks, it's a gorgeous facility,(I don't think those blacktoppers would know what this is all about). It was a pleasure to have attended a traditional/primitive shoot of this kind and all of the folks that were in attendance were wonderful people, I wish there was a place out here in the Southwest part of the country that had a operation like Pappy has here at Twin Oaks, this is awesome. I want to thank Shann and Jesse for taking time to show and explain how to take a flint rock and make a useful tool out of it, and I believe the gents name was Gary, who showed us how to take a piece of wood and turn it into a work of art, and a tool for putting meat on our table to feed our families, but also to enjoy shooting in the sport of archery. When I return to Twin Oaks form the Southwest Rocky Mountains I will bring back some of our weather to share whit all of you. For now I gotta get back in the saddle and get to work.
May the Creator watch over all of us, wherever we may travel. Ahoh!
