Title: "Redneck Camo" ?
Post by: WOODSLORE on June 22, 2010, 10:31:48 pm
Howdy yall!, (sorry couldn't resist ;D ) I was wondering about carp skin backing. I do alot of bowfishing and some of em would make beautiful backing, but I dont know how to. Do you tann it? scale it? what? I'm working on a ash flat bow that would be phenomenal with a nice "camo" backing. Please post pics if ya got em thanks all! ;D ;D

Look on page 3 of this "How To" section. Timo has a skin-along with just what you are looking for. Let me know when you have skins ready for trade.  ;)

Scale it and strich it out and let dry. When you want to apply it to you bow just put it back in water and rehigydryht and cut and place on your bow with hide gule! Should make a good backing for your next bow! Kenny
