Title: Quad lam ELB

Hello from the United Kingdom I am a Long time reader of this site so thought it was about time I posted one of my bows that I have made

Spec
74 inch ntn 52LB @ 28 inch will draw to 30inch my draw lenght 57LB & 30 inch
Width at handle 7/8 of a inch tips 3/8 of a inch
Bamboo back, 1/16 IPE. 1/4 to 1/16 tapered Maple, IPE belly
Simple buffalo horn nocks and arrow pass
7 coats of Danish oil for the finish

One of my main concerns when working with IPE is the weight in the tips and keeping Hand shock to a minimum so that was the main reason for the Maple core I have found that it has worked very well with very little to no hand shock depending on the weight of the arrow
I am also very pleased with the contrast between the Bamboo,Maple & IPE

This has turned out to be one of the fasted longbows I have made with a excellent cast
The bow has Taken under 1/2 inch of set and after resting is all but straight

Very nice bow!  Got it bookmarked for the July Laminate BOM too!  :)

Hi Dusty.
Very classy as usual, where do you find those laminate trees? ::) Do they only grow North of the Watford gap?
I'll bet that's pretty fast. What diameter arrow and pile weight do you shoot?
You've gotta be careful on here, they'll tell you it should be 65" long for an ELB  ;)

Simply beautiful.  Clean glue-lines, great tiller, and I don't even know what to say about the horn nocks.  Congrats on a wonderful bow man.  Love the classic look of it.  Again, congratulations man, bet shes a shooter.

 That bow is gorgeous. The contrast of the different wood is stunning.

Very handsome.  You might have been able to thin the bamboo at the nock ends a little more as it is very very tough, but I agree with the others about the contrasts in the laminations - I luv 'em.

The arrows I have used are 11/32 60lb spine the spine is so high due to the length of the arrow  31inch long
If I use to light a arrow 400 grain there is a little had shock but take the weight to 520 grain and there is no hand shock at all

 I was concerned  about the weight of the IPE at the tips that was one of the reason for keeping the backing thicker as Bamboo is lot lighter than IPE
