I have found two types of cane or bamboo.Can you guys help me Id them?Thanks

Here is the other type,it is a little more brittle and crooked than the other.

First one is native river cane (what you want), second one is Chinese golden bamboo. That stuff has escaped from cultivation and is naturalized all over the place. I've made a few arrows from the Chinese boo, but it's not nearly as good as the native cane.

Thank you!!! This is great news,the first one is alot closer to home and there is alot of it..It is also alot straighter than the other.The cane has been there for over 35 years.......Joe

yup, first stuff is definitely river cane. just like the stuff i cut. it makes it a lot easier when you can cut your own, and start out with much straighter pieces rather than getting them from home depot! youll enjoy working with it. also, when you go back, cut some taller ones for atlatl darts! if you cut them straight enough, you can just dry them and throw them like that! its what i do!
