the blade on this knife was forged out for me by a friend of mine on tradgang. this file was one of the first i bought when i started bow making over 10 years ago. i'm guessing i've used this file to make over 75 bows and i hated to throw it away when it wasn't cutting like i wanted it to. so i asked steve nuckels if he would forge it out but leave some traces of the file to show some character. the grip is from a buck i killed when i was younger and i put an ivory cap on the end and attempted to scrimshaw an old english c to personalize it. enjoy!

Nice knife, Chris. It's even more awesome that it has a back story as good as yours. I think I am going to do the same with my bow file when it finally bites the dust (LOL). Thanks for the inspiration. :)

Sweet! That's one of the best-looking knives I've seen in a while. A big "P" would fit right on that pommel, too. ;D

the "old boys" a generation or two before us valued STEEL........and didn't just landfill any of it . find an old smithy and look under the benches, and behind the forge and in the rafters. Anything that could be heated and pounded on was saved and eventually re-used.
Good job on that knife, excellent use of a good piece of steel.
