I've been working on a sign to put at the entrance road for the knap-in we are having next month. Think people will notice this? No telling how many hours I have in it. It is double sided and opens like an A-frame. I put the chair in there to gauge size.

If you notice, there is a hinge fracture just below the P in knap-in, because I can't seem to be able to make a point without a hinge.
The N.C. Knap-In is 18 days away. I hope a lot of folks will come join us.

Your the man.

Jim that is a very nice sign. I am sure all knappers willl see it and they will know exactly what is is. Now the public on the other hand will all see it but hardly any of them will know what it is. For good public turnout put a regular sign next to it that says Arrowheads and Crafts -------->. I guarantee you will have more public foot traffic. Mike Smyth

notches look good, every good point deserves at least one stack :D

Man! That looks great, Jim.
Folks ought to be able to see it. :)
I've been hearing from alot of folks that are planning on coming.
I'll start telling them to just look for the BIG Gray Arrowhead. ;)

Mike, good to see you here. I have (obviously) had other stuff going on and haven't logged as much on-line time as usual here or PP. It is too late for me to start on the other sign, though I will make one for next year. Thanks.
As long as the knappers can find us this time, the rest can figure things out as they will. I'm happy to have public interest, but I really like having a good group of rock chippers & primitive artists doing their thing. I barely got to join in the knapping pit the first year and less than ideal weather is the only thing that allowed it last year.
I'm really looking forward to this year's event. The new site ought to be great and interest does seem to be growing. It doesn't hurt that I know a lot of people who live in that community either.
I should have taken a picture of the other side of the point to post here it properly...it has a hinge too by the way. ;D
Now, I've got get cracking on getting those directional signs in shape.
Hope to see you there!

I'll get back to you on the w/t ratio, Russ.
That might make one heck of a wicked end snap, especially with me driving. Imagine the size of the billet it would take! I love a fluted point, I'm just not good at producing them. I'll be working on replacing the directional signs as time & money permits, & thought I might go with Hardaway side notch points, but nothing's carved in stone yet... ;D
