Post by: jeff halfrack on September 01, 2010, 08:24:20 pm
Hi  all,   I've  made  bl  self  bows  with  good  results,  I  have  some  bl  boards  good  straight  grain  and all ,  what  I'm  going  for  is  a  60"  n2n  flat  bow  I  want  to  back it  I  have  boo,  maple  hickory,  ash  and  glass,  silk  linen,  my  questions  are;  is  60"  OK  my  draw  is  26"  My  nocks  are  1\2"  now  and I  will  put  tip overlays   I  have  the  stave  all  most  to  brace  ht  thats  when  I  normally  back  a  board bow  my  riser  is  5"  I  hope  to  go  with  a  torges  style  handle  and  glue on a  leather  rest  the  riser is  1.5"  wide I  tapered 9"  to  the  tips  I  think I might  add a  little  wood  to  the  back  of  the  handle  sorry  for  the  rant  but  I  would  like to  hear  from you  guys  thanks  so  much  Jeff W

Just a little short. I'd back it with linen and let it bend in the handle. Jawge
