My son in law helped me with these 2 lock-on type tree stands. They are made of bed frame angle iron, some leftover expanded metal, and other scrap pieces I had around the shop. All I bought was the chain , cable clamps, and a little paint. The cam action really works very good and they are solid as a rock.I mount them on the tree with the floor up,then, after chaining it,pull the floor down and it tightens up nice. God Bless

i made several like that in my teens. now, i go to dick's sporting goods and buy them for $40. i can't buy the materials and make a stand for that price.

Great stands, looks very similar to what I use.

I built these for about 20 bucks apiece. If I could figure a way to weld the twisted cable, and did'nt have to buy the clamps,it would be half that much. ;) God Bless

Those look good, Pete. I've got two that look just like them, one's aluminum and plastic and the other is all aluminum. I got lucky and got one for $20 and the other for $25 at the flea market.
