Title: trying to make some porn of my own
Post by: sailordad on September 12, 2010, 09:34:48 pm: well i got a box of coral from jeff about a week or so back
it was raw,so i spalled some down and took some of the smaller stuff that was in the box
thru it in my turkey roaster and went to town cooking rock for the first time
didnt realy have an idea of what i was doing
but the wife said "if ya screw it up,you can always buy more"
man shes so understanding ;D
some was under cooked(bigger pieces),some over cooked (smaller pieces),some was just right ;)
ive been working with it for a week now and heres what ive got so far(and have not wasted a piece yet ;) )

most of the points were percussion/pressure flaked,the knife blade was all percussion ecxept the very edge
the point on the left has grey streaks in it and coral polops.the three on the right are all trnaslucent when back lit
the other two along with the knife blade are partially translucent when back lit

oh and that piece of wood that it is laying on is my next bow getting finished up(its been at floor tiller for over a year ::) :P )
gotta get some of them half done bows finished so i can make room for the paddle bow i want to make
