Title: joint question..
Post by: aero86 on September 12, 2010, 11:15:22 pm
some im getting ready to start another asian style project bow.  this one will be back with bamboo strips, hopefully a little more professional this time.  anyways, my question is this, i was going to try a V-splice joint for the low angle siyahs i was going to use, but i got to thinking and didnt know if they would work that way or not because there would only be a backing and nothing below the joint.  opinions?

also, i was thinking of using the same siyah, will have only about 2 inchs of glue surface, but i was going to run strips of cane onto part of them.  i think it might make for a strong enough joint there.  opinions?

sorry for all the posts about these crazy bows im making, im just trying to get it figured out.
