Here's a new one still warm out of the oven. Me and Chris (Mechslasher) and my son Cody filmed this stuff back earlier in the summer, I just now got it put together. We're training Cody to do all the hard work while we kick back and relax. ;D

let me the first, well second, to say, that's too damn funny! love the largest limb line cat. are we sure cody has reached the hallowed ranks of master baiter?
still on for next weekend?
-
He's gettin' there Chris-just got to learn to keep up with that hand towel. ;D I'll be there next weekend as far as I know, looking forward to it.
-
Very cool video and I can attest to the fact that those cats were mighty tasty!
Cody's made me laugh out loud. The Benny Hill theme for the retakes was perfect.
I plan to be there too Chris but not until Saturday.

Man, that got me, I am wanting to fish so bad right now I can't stand it. No more vacation till January. Thosw were some nice fish. I was surpised at how shallow you were setting your bait, I am going to change me tecnique, Did you feed all those floaters down a trot line? Steve
-
Very cool video.................Oh to be a "baiter" with such ability!!LOL :-[
-
Steve, they're just free floating. We're putting them out just before dark and picking them up right after daylight, so the short lines work great at night and make it a lot easier to net the fish. We throw 'em right out in the middle of the lake sometimes and they still catch fish on that foot of line.

I thought that was a river you were fishing in, didn't realize it was a lake. Things like this make me want to retire more than ever man. 3 more months if I decide to retire now. Steve
-
steve, the place we're fishing is a river/lake. it's an arm of lake thurmond, better known as clarks hill lake on savannah river between s.c. and ga., that has a slight current running through it. the river is famous for some very large flatheads and blues. the biggest i've seen boated was over 90 pounds. i've hooked some on jugs that couldn't be boated. the largest was well over 6' long and we chased it for hours but just couldn't get the net on it and it finally straightened the hook. i'm hoping to get a 30 or 50 pounder on the line for steve and cody to "play" with. that should be a blast!

Chris, that's what the Super Blackhawk is for....;D

Steve, excellent video! Excellent music! Excellent fishin, and Excellent eattin! Cody can't be called a "Master Baiter", till he can switch hit with either hand! ;D As for those big uns that couldn't be boated, you need to make yourself a bang stick! Just don't load it till you are ready to put it on a big ol catfish! Not too cool, if it should bump against something while heading for another float....... :o You can put a ping safety on it though. Thanks, I really enjoyed that, and I am glad that you are eating healthy, by only eating organic free range catfish. ;) ;D An organic free range catfish, is a happy catfish, and a happy catfish, is a healthy catfish, without all of the stress hormones that farm raised fish have. ;)

Actually that is a "pin" safety, not ping. Sometimes my fingers leave my hand and type what they want. Something to do with years of being a "Master Baiter"...... ::)

we always run about 3ft on our jugs because of the big 5-6ft gar we catch you cant net that size how we land them is we have a short deep sea rod with a large pen reel with 100+ lb test and a 09 or larger hook on it with the barb cut off. now how to land the fish with jug we hook the jugs line below the jug with the barbless hook and wear the the fish out with the drag. once its worn out we battize in the head with a aluminum bat or shoot it with a 22 pistol and thats it
-
I'll be up next spring for juggin' and turkey huntin'. We can't jug down here anymore. It used to be fun; you didn't know if you were pulling up a catfish, 15# softshell turtle or 5' gator. Either way they were all tasty. Funny video, Steve.

Skyarrow;
You might want to check with local regs, on shooting the fish. Down here it is illegal. A buddy of mine got a fine, and had to go to the Game offic, or court house to get his rifle back.
