I took off early from work today and the weather is nice for a change, so I went to the gravel pit and banged these two out. I tried every angle but could not get that knot out of the center of the little Bull Tongue Simpson, so rather than break it, I left it.

Thanks, Pappy, Ron and Bob. Roger this weather does make it nicer, now I just wish the mosquitos would take a break. It's getting cooler this weekend, too.

I like them! What kida rocks did you use?
-
Dang, you know all the names! :o I wouldn't know a bull toungue from a Folsum. Or.....are you making those up? ::)
Nice ones Eddie, when you get back, I want to get together with you and do some knappin. Ever get around to messin with that boo, or carrot wood? I gotta get the peice I have for El D, packed up and sent out. It is about as light as it is going to get now. ;)

The rock is Coastal Plains and Flint from Kentucky.
Wayne I haven't had time and it's been too hot to play with wood. I might be home this weekend, don't know yet.

lookin good bud, I like that simpson!
-
Would that Simpson be a spearpoint? Like that.
-
Thanks Jesse.
Steve, yes, they were mostly mounted on foreshafts, my guess. Most of them were around 3 to 4" long.

I still have my knappin kit out here on the road Eddie but haven't had time to mess with it, guess I need to make up a set of tools for the house. Anyway, just drove through Hixton, WI yesterday and didn't have time to stop and prowl - man, that just goes against the grain :(.

Dang, Paul, you sound like me in Brazil. You need to slow down and take in the country. And beat some rocks ;)
