Going to hunt coyotes...I'm gonna keep the hide and tan it.
How about the meat though...anyone ever eat coyote meat?
-
Can't taste too much different than Rover. Not that I'd eat the ole boy unless it were an extreme emergency.
-
I believe there's a couple guys on here that have, they should be commenting any time. I've heard from marines who were stationed in Phillipines and Korea that dog is a dark meat that tastes kind of like liver, and I imagine coyote would be pretty similar. I won't be trying it any time soon that much I know ;) But tanning the hide is a very good idea, especially if you are looking to make a quiver out of it.

Well I want to make a quiver and also a back pack using the head as the cover flap...should be fun to wear to school.
-
By "school" do you mean high school or college? If it's college, you'll really have to watch out for the "animal rights" demonstrators. You'll make a lot of enemies with a backpack like that in most colleges, and even some high schools. Not saying you shouldn't do it out of what other people might think, just saying that wearing real fur around you will need to watch your back.

We ate some yote last year when we were in Texas. Not bad but definitely needs to be marinated and tenderized. Actually taste like beef. ;)

Hey Jeff, the wife was passing around a picture of me with my Afro at the Classic last year. Gotta love that woman. ::)
