Hunting over a mountain laurel thicket. Lots of deer today (14 total) and took this doe. Had a huge 8 ptr come in after she was on the ground but he saw her dead and backed out. (http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll210/RangerB/CIMG9313.jpg)

I spined her and she went down then tried to crawl off with her front legs so I took a shot and hit her in the gut. Not good but she did slide towards me and I put another arrow in her heart to end it.

Way to go Jimmy. I knew it was just a matter of time.

Good deal Jimmy! Man, that looks like some thick stuff to be weaving an arra through.

Man Jimmy....what were you.....30 foot up in that tree....looks like a straight down shot.....

Way to go, Jimmy. I bet that'll taste better than ground hog.

Thanks fellas and yes, I called Pappy the other night and he was rubbing it in. Said he was cooking backstrap. I am now able to eat some myself!

Good job on the doe.
Tell us about the bow you are using. Looks to be a boo backed R/D and not one of your self bows.

That is a bow Ric Anderson made for me while I was in Afghanistan. It's osage and cocobolo. It's a beauty and shoots like a dream. I really wanted to kill a deer with it this season so I'm a happy camper now. It has a groundhog, deer and about a dozen squirrels on it's belt now :D
