One of the guys I do landscape work with has a plasma cutter. I asked Josh if he would cut out some trade points and knife blades for me so in return I made this little neck knife for Josh. I set the blade into the antler tip handle with epoxy then pinned it with a bamboo skewer. Finally I used a sinew wrap and seal that with TBIII. The sheath was made from a scrap of leather and a leather boot lace.

Very nice work Pat, and a great gift. ;)

Thanks guys. These little knives are cool to work on. I've only made a few but plan to make more. The leather work comes naturally to me since I've been doing it for almost 40 years.

Them Plasma Cutters are some pretty cool things aren't they....that's what I use for all my Blades...I use the one at work...and get paid 27 an hour to make my knives....what they don't know....won't hurt them.....lmao...
Nice setup Pat...he will be proud...

I delivered the neck knife to Josh today and he loved it...but his sister, Kaanan saw it and wanted one too. We all work together doing landscape work. Well, when I got home I went to the basement and in a little while I came up with this. I will made a similar neck sheath for this one too.
I used a brass pin and epoxy to haft this blade. I thought this antler tip worked well with the blade.

You do nice work Pat. Those knives remind me of the one I got caught with going thru the Nashville airport security with, Did not even think about it being attached to my quiver which was in my carry on bag. Luckily I was allowed to mail it home from the airport.

Hi Pat,
You sure do nice work. Sure is cool to follow your art...you ought to enter one of your knives in that art show you won an award for the bow awhile back.
(If you want a little bit of purple heart to add a splash of color to the antler with on your next one I will put some in the mail (you know I like to dress my mess up with veneers of color...I like purple heart and ebony together too...you probably already have some of each)
Stay warm!! Got the woodstove cranked up and going down here in the South:)

Rand, it was 1 deg(F) this morning and supposed to get colder tonight. We got 3 1/2" of snow last Sunday morning and except for the 39deg Sunday it has been below freezing since. Calling for another "event" this weekend. Kinda shades of last winter. ;D I do have some purpleheart but thanks for the offer.

Hey Pat,
Sure seems to be colder up there in the North!! I sure am glad I have my old woodstove to keep us warm...down here in the South we freeze our nethers at any thing in the teens. I degree...wow!!
Anyway...beautiful work with the knives and can't wait to see what you do next!!
Stay warm!
