Anyone have any good ideas for an idexer for arrows with self nocks?

A small dab of 5 min epoxy.

I have glued a small bead onto the side of the nock. Every once in a while you will break them off but they are easy to glue back on.

Baking soda and super glue sets up immediately like a brick.

I usually put a drop of TBIII or Duco on and when it skins over I turn the arrow so the glue dot points down and let it set. Gravity holds it until the glue sets and it leaves a pronounced dot which makes a good index.
  Another method that some of the oldtimers used was to make one side of the self nock a bit shorter than the other and this worked as an index.

 I don't worry about it. If the arrow is splined and made right it doesn't matter where the Cock feather is unless it is a cane arrow.

They are cane arrows Eddie ;D  A batch I made up awhile back, I was shooting them the other night and it was frustrating in low light to nock the arrows.  Thanks for the ideas guys. ;)

 Nate,

Another easy way is if you are using hot melt to attach your points, just put a dab on while you have it melted.

When I tie off the thread or sinew wrapping I knot it a couple or 2 or 3  times right at the cock feather.  Perfect indexer. :) Jawge

I sometimes make the outside ear (cock feather side) shorter than the inside ear (between the hen feathers side).Easy to feel, even in low light conditions.

On these arrows I used the heads of small brass tacks, in the style of Pope and Young. You just drill a small hole and glue them in.

I glue on two small seed beads then wrap with sinew, haven't had one fall off yet.   Scott
