Title: Dye and Gophersnake skins
Post by: NTD on December 04, 2010, 10:24:07 pm
I had some scrap gopher skin and some scrap bamboo so I decided to do a test to see what the skins would look like with certain dye.  I took the scales off but wasn't thorough with it but it's enough to give you an idea
Here's the results from the top right down.  Mahogany, Yellow, yellow with mahogany mixed, and no dye.

I put some of my bull snakes over a bright yello card stock paper I had and the yellow really brought the pattern out. I was very surprised.

I like #1 and #3 the best. Looks more natural to me.
