-
Da Yooper did good
-
Yeah He did.....I don't know how many of You have been keeping in Touch with Dana...but this last Weekend....Dana went to a Christmas Party...indulged a bit too much in the Christmas Spirits...was walking Home in the Subzero temperatures of Upper Michigan...fell down...could not get back up....because He was too inebriated....passed out....was about dead when three passersby found Him...and woke Him...and got Him to the House....where He is still recovering from Hypothermia....and Frostbite....He is lucky to still be alive today...if it weren't for the Tree People that found Him...He would have laid there Drunk ...and froze to Death...Well He had an Eyeopener that evening...and Has decided that Life is too precious to waste like His Father did...So He is trying hard ...Day by Day to stay Sober....attend AA Meetings...and get His Life back...so please if you can....give Him a Good Word....He really needs it....

I was at Twin Oaks walking around with a pocket full of gizmos and walked by Dana's truck piled high with bow staves. I didn't know him but thought anybody with that much wood surely needed a gizmo. I walked up, introduced myself, explained to him how a gizmo worked and gave him one. He reached into his quiver and handed me the most beautiful goose fletched cane arrow I have ever seen. I tried to turn it down as I had about 5 minutes in making the gizmo and he had hours in making the arrow but he insisted.
Super nice guy,I always hated it that the demons had a tight grip on him but having been there, I knew he was the only one who could loosen their grip. Hope he makes it this time.

That is a dandy Mike! I have a missed call from the ole Yooper, gonna call him back right now :).
-
That looks like a well made arrow. I hope your friend Dana, can overcome the devil, seen to many good men reduced to rubble from that particular demon.
-
Thanks Paul....Lombard...My Wife had a battle with this demon also...all it took was Colon Cancer...and She quit ...Cold Turkey...one doesn't have a thing to do with the Other...but that's when She Quit...and if my Wife can....so can Dana...just has to Man Up...that's all...it's a Minute by Minute...Day by Day Ordeal...but with Strength and Will Power...anyone can do anything
-
Mike I been trying to think of something apropriate to say and all I can come up with is that when you talk to Dana tell him that I wish him all the strength and determination that he will need to get his life back. Ronnie
P. S. Dang nice arrow I'm envious.
-
Thanks Ronnie...I will let Him Know...and as for the Arrow....Eat Your Heart Out........ ;D
-
Now that's really cold looks like you could send me the point off it at least.
-
sure is beautiful! hope things get better!
-
That looks like a beautiful arrow - expertly made! His presence is missed on these boards alright :)
I'm glad the three people found him and I hope he overcomes his problem. Pass on a "Merry Christmas" wish from me please?
-
I have been missing Dana on this forum, and wish all the good in the world. I have had real good dealings with him and he is the real deal kind of a person. Be strong Dana and just know you'r the man. Very nice gift. Kenneth

Dana's got some strong opinions but he's good people for sure...and super talented! He is missed, maybe Santa will let him back on :)
-
That's sad, I hope he get's his life together. I'm glad somebody found him, Dana's a very nice and talented guy, I hope he shakes his demons.
-
Ron...I will let him know...Jeff...most Yoopers have Strong Opinions...some good ...some bad...but they all hold true to their Beliefs...that's for sure...and as for Santa...that would be great...but doubtful.
-
Glad to hear Dana is ok and trying to stay sober. It was the alcohol that was the cause of all his problems here

Dana was the first to welcome me to the PA family and since then we shared some good times on the phone. I talked to him just last week and it was good to share some laughs with him. He has some good skills and a heart that makes him give to a fault. It did not take him long to learn how to make some very good hunting points. Those of us that he has given to appreciate him and wish him the best. Sometimes ole man Fate can deal up some realism that can be a hard lesson learned and if that's the case here then all I can offer is for all of us to encourage him to get well. My opinions, to often expressed, have made for some tough and awkward times times for me and that's true for Dana. Sometimes life can be a bitch! A/Ho Pokie

beautiful work. ive been talking to him and i think he can do it. ive had plenty of arguments as well as good times with him , hell i think i was the one who banned him from the site the first time. if he can use that stubborn , tough yooper attitude with me , beating the booze will be easy. ;D

Talked to Dana and he is doing better but now his hands freeze real fast in the cold. His life was saved by the guys that found him but this experience might also save his life.
