Title: Question about snakeskin sheds
Post by: Almostpighunter on January 12, 2011, 03:45:41 am
I saw some info posted but can't relocate it so I apologize for making anyone repeat themselves. If I remember correctly, the use of naturally occurring snake shed skin will give a scale pattern but no pigment. I had another one of my goofy ideas for a bow design and my question is what glue would be best to adhere the sheds to the bow and still be nice and clear so anything I painted on the back of the bow could be easily seen?

Probably any of the white carpenters glues(Elmer's, etc) will dry relatively clear. I use a small piece of shead skin for a docoration and used TBIII. gave it a slight amber color.  Shead sking are thin and fragile so take care when working with it.
