Here are a couple of billets I made over the last couple of days. The small one is about 8 oz and 1 1/2 inches across. The big one is exactly 1 lb and about 2 1/4 across.
The small one I used and man do I like it. It is great on bifaces. The large one I just finished today and havent got to use yet.
Here are some pictures . thanks for looking.

I have some elk billets and I love them
-
never used elk
but i do have a moose billet the size of your larger elk one and i love it
-
Do you just use the base of the horn? Or can you use any part of it? thanks those look nice planning on makeing some tomorrow
-
josh, best to use the base of the horn, and even better if it was cut from the skull- not a shed- cut as close to the skull as possible for moose-like density.

K thanks aaron sent you a pm

These are from sheds. I cut the tines off and the burrs and took a rasp to shape them. They should have some good life to them though. Way cheaper for me than moose. I have more if anyone wants one.
