i was wondering if anyone thought i is possible to make a bow out of grape vine, as i have wild concord grape vines near my house many inches think, i know it is very pourus,
if it were to work, what design would you suggest, im thinking something like an elb style.

I was going to expirement with grape vine this year. I picked out a nice piece and plan to cut it soon. I don't think it will be very good bow wood, but it would be fun to mess around with. I was thinking about sinew backing it.

Try it, who knows you might have discovered the next great bow wood.

i will have to try it, im thinking mabey a elb style bow would work, is seems like it might be better in compression than tension, it is also an extreamly light wood, so you could afford to have it larger to get more strength, who knows maybe heat treating or backing would help
