				Hi mark,

Nice to hear from you, obviously i will be at Batsford as i organise it, will my new flight bow be ready?

 Steve
-
				Hi all

My wife and myself will be there and two more archers from Kettering,be nice to put names to faces... ;) ;)

 All the best Lin...

				Steve,
I have cut some belly stave material, I have a backing, I booked time off to make a bow and then the heavens opened! If the sun makes an appearance I will make shavings but until then I am limited to stuff indoors and bow making just isn't allowed indoors by she who must not find out!
I think I will name your bow Unicorn. It is talked about, but no one has ever actually seen it  ;D ;D ;D

				Ok mark
That is a bit of a shame, i was really looking forward to shooting it, looks like i will have to be a little more patient :(
-
What's the design?  Is this a laminated bow?

I think the fates are keeping me away from Batsford this year...

First I wasn't going (was getting married instead)
Then I could go (marriage postponed til later this year)
Now I can't go (fractured my right hand)

 Next year... next year...

And I was really looking forward to seeing what this new Italian Yew 133lb-er could do with a military arrow   :'(

-
Glenan, get well soon! Hope your hand will heal.

:( That is a shame Glenn, was looking forward to seeing you and your good lady again. Also I will have the dvd of the Towton, Decisive weapons etc programmes with me... Looks like I'll hafta post it to you mate.

-
Glennan, you're supposed to shoot the armor not hit it with your hand :D
How many times have you heard that or a variant since you broke it? If you don't mind my asking how did you break it?
-
Glennan Thats terriable news about your hand. Hope it heals soon so you can shoot your bow. marlon

-
Thanks for all the messages of support.

4 - 6 weeks and I should be back to shooting.  Luckily, the bone I fractured (5th Metacarpul) has no bearing on the ability to draw a bow (all the stress goes through the first three metacarpuls) so hopefully it won't slow me down too much

-
Ouch.  Take care of that Glennan.  Let's see that bow, too.

Hi Glen, i think your just being a Girl and your scared of the competition ;D

 Steve
-
				steady now ,no teasing :)

-
				Steve,

Yeah, you're right:  My doctor said "Don't you be scared of those nasty warbow archers.  Here, I'll wrap your forearm in plaster and you can tell them you've broken a bone.  Then they'll all feel sorry for you."

 ;D
-
Plaster?  If you were really serious you'd use linen and hide-glue, with a hickory splice surgically inserted.
 J
-
I tried to explain that to the hospital staff but they're SO stuck in their ways...

Here, I'll wrap your forearm in plaster and you can tell them you've broken a bone.
Just like a man eh.. So coz you've broken a bone, poor ole Chrissie can't come and play at Batsford with the rest of the gang....  :P :D :D  ;)
-
Hey are you guy's gonna' post any pictures? I'd like to see what ya'll shoot at for fun across the pond.I'm sure the rest would too.
