My latest 71.5" ntn.
60# @28"
70#@31"
Here it is at 31", it shows how bendy Yew is even in an ELB design. No much set either.

It's not for BOM it's as classy as the last one, the wood is much paler yet the two bows came from trees within a few hundred yards of eachother. This is still very nice wood though.

Not for BOM, as it's not as classy as the last one.
BULL!! That is 'classy' enough in my book. Simple, elegant bow. Nice work.

Thanks, but it aint got fancy silver rivets and a wavy heart/sap boundary...
But I'll still be sad to hand it over to it's new owner on Saturday. Mind it's given me a good feel of the draw weight I can handle these days.
Cheers

Lovely longbow there and the full draw is going into my collection of "what a tiller should look like" shots for future reference.
Its always sad when they leave home isnt it :)
Make up and excuse and keep her we wont tell :-X
-
Nice classic ELB! I like them better without too much "bling"
Darcy :)
-
That's a good looking bow
Thanks Leroy
-
Del, that is a sweet looking bow no matter how you look at it. My favorite style of bow and you nailed the tiller. Btw here in the NW if you wear sandals in winter you need to wear socks(wool preferably) ;D
-
Perfect arc of the circle tiller! I can see the whole circle looking at your full draw photo. Reminds me of the Thompson quote about the sliver of the new moon.
-
Awesome bow del... Perfect tiller!
-
why no BOM?? Gonna make me cry.. :'( It sure is pretty though...

:D :D Bookmarked for March Self BOM contest... Sometimes the plainest bows are the prettiest Del.
-
Del you did that piece of Yew justice in that bow. I just got to work with Yew a couple of times but it is truly amazing bow wood. Thanks for sharing.
-
Every time I see one of your yew darlings at full draw I want to cry like a baby. My climate is far too dry for a yew longbow to survive long, but it doesn't change how badly I want one...especially one of yours, Del.
Thanks for posting, I always appreciate your work!

Beautiful bow and great Tiller, Del. I don't know about the NW, but if you wear sandals here and you have socks on, it's a dead give away you're a Tourist. ;)
-
Beautiful. I think it is an elegant bow. Someday soon I hope to get a chance to play with yew.

that is abouit as near perfect of a longbow as you can get , tiller is right on and it is pure elegance. great job, I am sure her new owner will cherish her very much.
-
Cheers guys, I think maybe we need a whole sandal thread ;D.

Grat lookin bow and tiller! I would love to get a chance to work with yew someday, but we only have osage around here.
-
That is a beauty, Dell. There is beauty in simplicity. Look at the Parthenon. :) Jawge

good job on tat bow, i really like seeing it, especially the horn nocks.
-
Tremendous job Del. Its already been said but the tiller is perfect. I have a piece of yew I traded for thats waiting to be worked. I'm treating it like a fragile jewel. I'm afraid to mess it up so I figure I need to wait another 10 bows or so before I try it so that I am sure I can craft it the way it deserves.

Great job. Is that pacific yew or European yew?
-
Wow classic lines there and wonderful to look at no doubt. Great job and don't you feel better about not messing up your other one :)

It's English Yew cut last February in some ancient woodland/heathland in Southern England.
A Yew about 10" diameter had fallen over many years ago and a whole row of shoots had grown up from it like a line of potential bow staves, it was the biggest, about 6" diameter. I just took the one, as I didn't want to compromise the tree.

I never get tired of looking at ELB. Thanks for posting the pics.

Another nice one Del. I pull them to thirty inches, but when I do my middle finger is touching the corner of my lip.
