I was in Ottawa yesterday and my girlfriend decided to take me to Hull to see the Museum Of Civilization, specifically the first nation section. Took some pics of course. Here's a few with more to come. The pics are not resized

I really don't know if it's braced backwards. I was kind of wondering that myself at the time. The bow actually has a snakeskin glued on so I would think that it would be the back in which case it is not braced backwards. It might just be neglect that has made the bow take that shape. The pics were resized automatically when I uploaded them. I should put them on my site that way they should come in full size.

bob, i think that's an atlatl and a one-fletch dart.
on the bow, i read somewhere (i think in the TBB 1) that inferior woods were sometimes made with deflexed tips. that way the bow could stay strung without stressing the wood, but more importantly, it would not have to bend as much to reach drawlength, thus reducing stress as well.

Yes some of those are darts
I took the opportunity to upload some of the pics to my site, where they should come in full size. Here's some more pics.

Well even through my site the pics are still scaled down. If anyone wants to see them full size, for more details then just go here and change the # after the last / from 1 to 12
