I got this stave from Shannon last your at the classic. It’s winged elm, 61” 48# @28”. The skins are from a Split tailed Borneo python. (I Traded Nate out of it.) The pics don’t do the beauty of these skins any justice; you’ll just have to take my word for it. Got any more Nate? The tip over’s are buffalo horn. The handle is something very new to me. After seeing One eyes how to about it I knew I wanted to try it. I had remembered a while back that Greg B had made a Dogwood bow and had a handle wrap on it as such and I really like the look. It is by far the toughest wrap I have ever tried. Thanks for the tutorial One eye.
I heat tempered the belly just out to mid limb, and then dyed it with anilines to cover the darkened wood. This bow will be my hunting bow for the upcoming season. Very pleased with its performance.
Thanks for looking.

That is one cool looking bow Tim...!
Bout time you made something nice for yourself. :)
-
Beautiful bow Tim. You do great work. The handle detail is great, good luck hunting with it, I hope it makes you plenty of meat. :)
One question: Did you use dry heat or steam to add reflex to the limbs? I'm working on an elm bow now that I'm considering reflexing the limbs, and was wondering what method works best with elm.

Tim,
That is gorgeous! I like everything about it. The skin is nice but it only compliments already outstanding craftsmanship, what skins should do ;) I don't have any more of those, that's a once in a blue moon kind of skin :(

Excellent bow Timo. I was just reading over that how-to a few days ago and was thinking about giving it a try. I'll probably wait a bit now so it will be harder for people to compare my attempt to yours. ;D I hope you are bringing some of these babies you have been cranking out to OJAM so I can eyeball them over and pick your brain.

Tim, hope you don't mind me cluttering up your thread with that.

Wow!
-
Thanks ya'll ,I knew when I traded for those skins that I was gonna use them on a white wood bow, and it was gonna be for me.
Nate, I get first dibs on another set if you ever get them. Blue moon or no! ;)
Rick, I used dry heat to put in the recurves, Very slow, mainly a gravity bend. I did have a bit of separation on the belly, but I had left it thick enough to compensate for it. Another thing about winged elm is keeping it dry during tillering, if it starts taking fatigue, then put it back in the hot box.
Thanks again all.

Wow!
Took the words right outta my mouth :o
Glad it's not for BOM..........gives the rest of us a fighting chance ;D
