Hey Guys, this is my first post to the forum. I am not really a bowyer (yet) but I am starting to realize how much more I like all wood bows compared to my store-bought composite and glass laminated bows. I got the TBB series for Xmas and I decided to try my hand at making a board bow. Let me know what you think. It is a light 35# target/small game bow. It was supposed to be #35 at 28in so I left it at 27in and after a couple hundred shots its right on at 28in. The board is red oak and the bow is 66in n-t-n. The paint is just acrylic hobby paint and the string is waxed nylon thread.

I also made some arrows to go with it. They are Phragmites reed shafts with knapped heads and fletching tied on with whitetail sinew. The heads are also set with pine pitch glue made from white pine sap and charcoal with a little rabbit pellet for a binder.

Great tiller on that bow. If you didn't mention it, I would have thought it was your 20th or 200th bow. Excellent job.

Impressed....
That does not look like a 1st bow....In other words...WOW, and of course I'm jealous. You are a natural. Tiller looks great.
Good Job on # 1. I've only done 2 (successfully), and broke 4 before that.
You are ahead of the game.
And WELCOME!!! Hope to see much more of your work in the future.

Thanks Everyone!!!
I thought I should have put this in the first post but can't seem to edit. I made the pitch glue and the hide glue and processed the sinew but I did not make the heads. They are from Legionare here on the forum, also on Paleoplanet where I found him originally.
Anyway, I'm getting pics of that next bow now, will post shortly
