Fishfinder, this is a great event. Come if you at all can. This will be I think my 6th time coming. Jamie and his club does a wonderful job, and there are tons of things to do. At least a few PA folks come each year.

Noel, with a host like Jamie and folks like Rick and Dane you can't go wrong. I've met both Jamie and Rick but haven't met Dane in person but from conversations we've had I feel like we're friends.

Thanks, Jamie....I will be there for certain. Cleared the weekend with my wife months back :) It will be good to see you and Rick again.
Thanks, Pat....someday, our paths will cross.
Flint knapping is big, and they have staves and all the tools you will need to make bows, plus tons of experienced folks to help. The edible plant walks are a lot of fun, and they have instructors for the Maine Primitive School on hand teaching a variety of skills. Last year there was fire making, cordage making using dogbane, split ash basket making, and knot making. I'll be bringing atlatls and darts, and I'm hoping to have a crossbow finished in time. The folks who come are great, very laid back and friendly. You will have a great time for certain.

just wondering, if i were to go, as i am almost certain i will be, what should i bring?
thanks

most important.... yourself.
if you have a bow and want to shoot , bring it. any tools you want to bring, anything youd like to trade or sell, second most important thing after yourself is any skills you would like to share with others.
we have a kitchen in the club house , we do a potluck on saturday night so if you have anything youd like to bring, you can. if you are planning on camping out all weekend a tent. looking forward to the event, even though im usually spent from running around all day, its a blast.
pat thanks for the kind words :)
-
this sounds amazing, and depending on how the fishing is i might be able to bring some to the potluck
so when would it be best to arrive an leave?
noel
-
Noel, get there early and leave late. I usually get there around 8 am, and leave after dark. One year, I ended up not camping but coming to both Sat. and Sun. Last year, Jamie grilled wild boar, and other years, he has done venison to perfection. They also have the kitchen open and sell hotdogs and burgers all day. This year I plan to make something special to bring to contribute to the dinner.
Don't miss this event, Noel. And look me up, I will be there all day Saturday.
