Title: hafted knives
Post by: jamie on May 18, 2011, 07:02:01 pm
all abo except the burns green.  slab i picked up online. met a guy last month who sells hunting knives at sportsman shows all over the east coast. he loved my work and asked if i would mind him showing my pieces. long story short i cant make enough knives for him. selling like hotcakes. i told him id try to keep up so he had them but if it became a job i was done. dont want knapping to be a chore. worst thing is everybody wants obsidian. i cant stand knapping obsidian but im gonna have to start. ive got two 5 gallon buckets of obsidian spalls and bifaces i never finished.

Jamie, good for you
you know i like your stuff,i knew it would sell easy too
cause youve got skills
i dont blame you for telling him youd quit if it became work
i do it for fun and stress relief, not for work
i wouldnt mind making a buck or two from it
but i can hardly give em away
but mine dont look like yours do either  :D

persoanlly i like to kanpp obsidion
especially with antler tools
just wish i had a better stash of good obsidion, regardless of color

I can see why they are hot as flat cakes... If I were that talented and had a market for my hobby/passion, I would make a little extra.. Y'all know teachers are always looking to make a lil extra ..

Nice work on all of them.

thanks gentlemen. josh one of them is a coyote and the other is a raccoon.. running out of jaws bones and antler. either gotta kill some stuff or buy some. think i'll kill stuff. i'll always take rock paul, but i owe you as it is. i gave one of those tabs to a buddy of mine whos been knappin forever and he said rhyolite was easier to knap. i happen to like that stuff you got.  ;D eddie as much as i cant stand slabs and obsidian i may do just that to save time. im planning on spending most of what i make to buy rarer stones for myself and give him the candy rock.
