I've got a nice piece of black locust sitting against the wall and don't like the back of it. Been wantin to use the stave for a bow and thought about backing it. I've read on here that locust is tension strong and not a good choice for backing. So I need to hear a final verdict before I go unbacked on this.
Can I use bamboo or hickory as a backing on a mildly reflexed bow design using Black locust?
