62" 47@27 osage. this thing has alot going on, twist, roller coaster, concave back and snake. i cant explain the pic looking stiff in the bottom limb but it checks great with a straight edge.any way it is a better than average shooter and shoots where i look so i guess ill hunt with it this fall.

It actually makes me want to take out the heat gun to put the snake into my wood ;D
In that picture of the bow on the stump, if it had eyes on the tips, I'd probably mistake it for a snake. Amazing bow Ohma!
-
I'd have to say thats the best looking and most snakest bow I see in a whille. What I have to say dosn't do it justice.

Don't know how long it took but it was worth it. Building a great shooter is usually good enough but you done gone over the top on this one.
Absolutely beautiful.

wow you guys are sure a great bunch to show off a bow to, i realy appreciate the the compliments. this piece of wood was a bugger not cause of the snake but it was very old and had a bunch of reverse crown in the back, made for alot of very meticulous scraping. the stave had about 3 inches of reflex and it has kept a little over a inch of it after resting unstrung for a while.i didnt do any straightening or heating at all it just lined up right. as for BOM i just make bows for my own pleasure and all the great compliments are reward enough. thanks again for all the nice words.
-
Better watch that one. It looks like if you lay it down it will slither away! Very nice!

That is about the most perfect stave for snakes. One of the best bows I have seen in a while.

That's a very nice bow,you did a good job. I built one very similar in May '08. 50#@ 26", 60" tip to tip.real snakey with diamondback skins.I've taken several deer, hogs, and small game with it,and still use it.I hope yours has the same medicine . Again ,great work. God Bless

Great bow! I like sneaky characters so much....
-
thanks all. Druid that cherry you posted is character plus. you have some interesting pieces in your wood pile to boot .where are you located?
-
I love the bow, and I have to feel that the spirit of that snake would feel proud to have it's skin displayed on a piece of art like that! I can't imagine a better resting place than a beautifully crafted piece of hedge. Certainly that snake has not lost it's bite!!!
-
That bow is awesome. Some day I would like to muster up the courage to tackle a snakey stave myself. Good job
-
That is one of the coolest bows I've seen in some time.
-
I agree with Gordon.
