I'd like to get a head count so I have an idea of who's coming. Just a little over a week away.
We have been having a few ticks lately. Previous reports of chiggers too so bring what you need for them. With all the rain we've been having there might even be skeeters, but only a few!  ;D
We all might try to get together with the food that will be coming so we don't over do it.  ::)  I have a Weber Kettle grill and if need be we can build a fire to cook on.
So lets hear who's coming and what you are bringing in the way of food but primitive skills and projects.  I'll get a detailed map or directions up in a few days.

Hey Pat,
This is Jay and Jessica from Tryon, Nc, we hope this mesage finds you doing well.  We would like to come up on Friday and camp for the weekend.  We will bring some kind of sweet and a rawhide-backed osage that needs final tillering. We can come and help set up or take down.  Jaybird

Looks like I'll be coming up Sat. morning sometime.  Not sure yet what I'll have for grub, I'll have to do some digging.  I'll probably bring some of that fine ryolite I've got laying around, and if I can get them done maybe some knife blanks.

Pat.  Put a chair there somewhere and hang a sign on it, "Charlie is here is spirit".  I hope you guys have a great time and sure wished I could be there.  Maybe in another year things will improve and I can do some traveling.  I sure hope so.  Miss you guys.  Have fun.  And if you make up another potion of that pine pitch, save me a blob.

OK guys here are directions from downtown Brevard, top of courthouse hill.  Take a left on Hwy 276 towards Greenville, SC and go 4 miles to a right on Island Ford Rd(look for Mud Dobbers Pottery Shop on left). Out Island Ford Rd for 2 miles to a left on Walnut Hollow Rd(just past Island Ford Body Shop on rt). Out Walnut Hollow for just over 3 miles to a left on Carson Creek Rd. then out Carson Creek for just over 1 mile(go under overpass and down the hill) to a right on Calico Lake Dr. We are the second driveway(gravel) on the left on Calico Lake Dr.
I will have directional signs at the bottom of Carson Creek Rd, Calico Lake Dr and at my driveway.

Pat, we'll be there Friday afternoon if nothing happens. Save us a copperhead and a yallerjacket nest to put the tent on. ;D Talked to Barry yesterday and he'll be there.

Sorry you won't be here Alan. We'll miss ya! Maybe next year!  8)
Steve, glad to here y'all are coming. I haven't seen you around much lately. I was gonna call Barry but hadn't yet. Glad you did! Lil Pat will be there Saturday.  8)
I found a big yellowjacket nest right next to the fire pit this evening. I sprayed it once but ran out of spray. Getting more cans tomorrow!  ;) Haven't seen any copperheads but the chiggers are awaiting your arrival!  ;)
I got one tarp almost up this evening. Yellowjackets prevented the finish. Will get the other tarp up tomorrow and do a scouting trip for other YJ nests! Outhouse will be here by mid day tomorrow so whenever anyone wants to come, we're ready...I guess!  ;D

Justin. I did that last week. Ran over this nest twice and the never swarmed. Yesterday while driving stakes for the tarp they decided to swarm right behind me. Fortunately for me they never got me...but I got them!  >:D

Don't forget the golf-ball sized hail, continuous lightning, and 60mph wind gusts. :) I hope my rainmaking ability holds up for next weekend-we could use some to bring the hogs out. Just not quite as much rain as I brought with me that one time we went down in December..........;D

Wade told me he was gonna try to drop in on his way back from Mich. I have a tent if he needs it.
I talked to Eric and the SC boys will be up Friday evening. I talked to Barry tonight and he is bringing his gitfiddle!

Patrick, talk ElD into coming and hitch a ride.  ;)
Thanks Eddie. I'll tell Barry hey for you.

It's gonna be a hot one! I killed the big yellowjacket nest next to the fire pit tonight. It had 2, 2"dia entrance holes about 6" apart.  That thing would have had the whole party dancing!!!  ::)

You guys are welcomed. Couldn't have done it without everyone that was there and I appreciate all of you for helping me celebrate my B-day(a few days early). Looking forward to next year.
I found a smaller blue/white cooler with wheels and a few camping chairs that were left. If you forgot anything just let me know and I'll get it to you.
I uploaded my pics to the computer but was having trouble uploading to photobucket so it will be tomorrow night before I can post any.  Tina(Mrs. Hillbilly) took lots of pics that should be interesting!  ::)

A misplaced cooler is always a sign of how well the party went. Sorry I missed it.

Last summer we had a neighborhood "gathering" in the street that went late. The next morning I found my cooler sitting in the center of the road..It was also a good one .

 Happy Birthday Pat!
