Title: trade quality stone knife for sinew
Post by: donnieonetrack on July 18, 2011, 11:36:07 pm
Looking to trade a quality stone knife or 2 for sinew, preferably long back sinew or processed legs.  Working on more horn bows and running low.

thanks,

Don

 Let's see a picture Donnie. ;) I also have a ton in my freezer that hasn't been scraped and dried. All backstrap.

Eddie, you going to TBOF in August?  I'll bring some examples.  Jon Ahlers makes the blades and I add a handle so it could be any style you want.  I tried to add photos here but it wouldn't allow.

Sinew doesn't need to be cleaned, I just need quite a lot, maybe 20 - 40 back pieces

Send me your email address and I'll send photos.

take care,

Donnie

 Donnie;

I plan on being there that weekend. I have about a dozen boxes of frozen backstrap, just haven't had time to scrape it. My email is eddieparker693@gmail.com. The pictures have to be 640 x480. I'll see if I can post them for you when you send them.

Donnie:  Do you prefer back or leg sinew on horn bows?  And why.  Curious.

Matt, I've only made one horn bow and used both leg and back sinew.  So, i'm not the guy to ask which is better.  I used the longer pieces for the bending limb areas and the rest with the shorter legs.

take care,

Donnie
