Figured I'd share some pics of this build since I was finally able to bring a Juniper piece through the Shadow of the Valley of Death >:D
It's 66" OAL, 64" ntn, #38 @ 26" for my wife Ingrid but I tillered it out to #43 @ 28" in case me or someone else with ape arms wanted to send a few arrows up wind.
Enjoy~

Thankfully it only took about 1/2 of set after being strung for an hour and 1/2 hour of shooting.

That Juniper is stunning. You made a very classic and classy bow, I really like it!
-
Awesome looking bow Lee! Some pretty serious character in that juniper. How thick is your hickory backing?
-
Nice work Lee!! I broke a couple juniper bows, that makes me want to try it again.

That's a naughty piece o red stick lee. Congrats on getting one to shoot.
You got some nice marbling in the heartwood. Sweeeet.
Now on to that hick stick >:D

lee great job on it iv got lots of juniper u just gave me some ideas for the not so good juniper how thick was ur hickory backing ? im thinkin to try somthing like it but want to try white oak or ash as a backing just some thoughts brock

Thanks a ton for kind words guys, much appreciated. I'm just more thrilled that she is excited to have a bow and to start shooting with me and the boys now. ;D
The Hickory backing was planed down to 3/16 cause it's a lower poundage bow, I'd probably use 1/4" for a bow that I'd shoot. Now I just need to build me one but I think I'll sinew that one >:D
I'd LOVE to find another couple Junipers with the same type of dark heart wood and marbling his one had but so far it's been about 1 tree in 5 that look as nice as this one did.
Thanks again boys!!!

beautiful bow.
Is she canting the bow? Top limbs looks stiffer.

Is she canting the bow? Top limbs looks stiffer.
Thanks~
Yeah, she is canting it and as you can see she is holding the handle section a bit too low by an inch or so but it was the better of the full draw pics so I figured I use it. She's a newbie too.

Wow man that is REALLY COOL!!! It looks as if it has liquid flowing through it ...sweet 8)

Beautiful bow. I really like the color/grain of the Juniper. Is it stained or is that the Juniper's natural color?
-
Beautiful bow Lee, the wood and finish work is exceptional and the tiller looks dead on.She should enjoy that one. :) :)

Thanks Soy!
Scowler, that is all natural juniper...love the looks of it just wish I could find a bunch that was knot free ::)
Thanks a ton for the kind words Pappy...means a lot coming from someone who has seen and handled a ton of bows!

Handsome bit of timber, nicely done.

That is sharp! ERC is hard to beat for beauty. I have a bunch of it curing, can't wait to work on it. I would be proud if one of my pieces turned out half that nice!
-
Great bow very well done all the way around! I bet she is enjoying it!
