I made the first point at Flint Ridge, and second one was created yesterday.
I made the hafted point Sat. morning and took that picture in the tree stand that evening. It weighed about 145g before hafting and flies just like my Zwickeys.
Last pic is my built in tree stand "spittoon". Ya'll reckon them slugs like tobacco spit. ;D

the first two are awesome Shannon but the hunting point is my fav. i like the simple deadly look.
careful your gonna get the slugs hooked on nicotine
-
That looks like a killin', point, like the brass weight. I'm going to have to borrow that Idea, what cal? After you marinate them they ought to taste good sauteed in butter. ;D
-
That's a brass insert in a carbon arrow :o I've been wanting to do that for a while and finally did. It's an aluminum broadhead adapter slotted to hold a point. Then set with epoxy, wrapped with unwaxed B50 set in super glue. Primitive huh?

Those are some beautiful points! I can't believe that they are your first three. You've found your calling! I'll take a dozen #3's.
-
Shannon, been waiting to see your new primitive arrow :o beautiful points but I'm not going to comment on your arrow ;D ;D. What kind of material is the green pine tree , I know you told me at the ridge but man thats been 2 weeks ago, I can't remember nothin anymore :-[ Later Bob

Primitive arrow?> :o ??? I think I'm going to puke! :-\ :embarassed: :-\ ;D ;)
-
;D

nice work buddy. beautiful stuff. and dont listen to these guys. a little primitive is better than no primitive ;D
-
I have shot my target like 20 times before the glue and sinew fail. (With pine pitch) I wonder which one would hold up better. We should do an experiment at the classic in May. I know that the pine gives a little. Anyway nice points can't wait to hear the results.
-
Beautiful points Shannon! Love the carbon/arrowhead...I did that a couple years ago. Shot em from my compound. I shot a squirrel with one, but the head shattered. I bet it's perfect with a trad bow. :)
-
That's awesome, I dont care who ya is
-
What makes me sick is not the slugs swimming in chew spit, and not the carbon arrow,BUT those awesome looking heads is what makes me sick. ;)
-
Very cool arrow Shannon, beautiful Trees also. Seeing any deer ?

Man you are amazing w/ that knappin!! Sheew. Pour a little bourbon in that stump next time and you'll be havin' a slug partay. ;D Now I've got to inspect those points for a little longer...
-
Good Grief!
Them some Purdy Points!

Pappy, I've been twice and seen 7 on one of the trips...no shot.
John, that arrow has been shot about 20 times and shows no signs of wear or loosening. I have some others like it that have been shot a hundred times or more and no change either.
-
That is real good info. Wow that is a great way to attach. My pine pitch and sinew would make it about 20 times. I have a new way to attach them so I don't know how many times they could be shot now. Maybe jackcrafty could ring in with how his points hold up. I know he uses that pine. No wear that is cool.

Purdy Shannon ! That huntin point looks deadly. Now go get it bloody fer us !

Like that moss agate one ,I picked up a few slabs of that before I left the ridge.Just got back in town, time to unpack and see what rock I ended up with. Enjoyed watching you making one of your trees. That Kentucky blue turned into a nice Turkey tail for my cousin, thanks again for that.
