Title: mounting trade points video?
Post by: Prarie Bowyer on September 27, 2011, 03:08:03 am
Are there any videos on mounting trade points and getting them straight?

Thanks,
PB

You cut your notch and glue them in w pine pitch or whatever glue your going to use.  Mount as straight as you can then turn upside down and spin on a table or something.  You can see when you spin it if it is off center.  Adjust quickly before it sets if using glue, or heat up the point to soften the pine pitch so you can readjust if you used that.

What KC said!
I like using pitch glue because it is easy to soften to make adjustments with a littlwe heat on the point. I usually spin arrows on my finger or the palm of my hand so I can also feel a wooble.
