Title: What height for fletching?
Post by: TurtleCreek on October 03, 2011, 05:06:14 pm
I just started prepping some canadian goose wing primaries for fletching and have all of them split and left full height.  What height would you guys suggest if I wanted to go for a Native American style two fletch?

Get 'em on the arrow full height, shoot 'em, trim as you like, cut into the feather, towards the pin, to whatever height you like.  Depending on how many you have and what you are using them for, you may leave some full height and have some trimmed as low as 1/2 inch.  Look through past posts and experiment.  If they're shootin good, that's what matters most.  have fun!!

I pretty much agree with bowtarist.  That being said I found that feathers trimmed at 5/8" tall work pretty well.
