When using deer leg sinew for backing limbs how many lengths from the legs are typically needed for say a 60" bow with 1-1/2" to 2" wide limbs at widest like a Modoc style ?

I never counted? I have used leg tendons twice and never even payed attention how many I used. If you have access to back sinew, try that one time. Its heaven on a bun with those long pieces! And it breaks apart so much easier. You would need about 5 back strips to cover your bow twice.

Hmmmmmmm , guess I'll be waiting a few years :) Been a skinny season so far , havent heard of many deer harvested so far .
Any good sources for buying sinew ?

Check the classified ads in Primitive Archer Magazine. Michael Foltmer out of Colorado has some great stuff like that at some of the best prices I've seen. Besides, he is a steady supporter of the magazine with his ad.
