This morning Wade got his first Buck. This was a rifle kill as he is still not quite strong enough for legal bow weight. He dropped him with a perfect heart shot.

Fantastic!!! Really sorry that we weren't able to hunt together this season. I really look forward to next year. You should be real proud, Wade. I was 16 before I got my first buck. I remember it like it was yesterday :D Congratulations for a great shot..

Thank you everyone, Wade was very excited and loved your responses; He is getting lessons on cutting up a deer today and I just did a demo for him of how to get the Backstrap sinew just like the article is this months Mag. Dose it get any better or what. He got to read about how to do it and now gets to watch. BTW great article !

I was 40.
Any chance you can get him to post a short story of his hunt? I think there are more than a few of us would like to hear it directly from the man.

Congratulations Wade!! That's awesome. That looks like a nice heavy buck and good eating I'm sure. Those are beautiful pictures and memories that will last as long as oral tradition is alive ;)
Nothing better than sharing God's bounty with your son. Those snow capped mountains remind me of hunting near McCloud, CA... And Lowell's poem, The First Snow.
I love hunting, but I love it even more when I share it with my son.

Congratulations Wade and Keenan, nothing like passing on tradition on to a younger generation. I am really glad my dad took the time with me to instill these values and traditions. Enyoy all that tasty venison. Those are some rugged looking mountains you have there. Kenneth
