Here is an osage bow I made for a friend of mine as a trade for a knife he made me. A fun bow to make, my 10th or so. Its 58" ntn, 52# at 25". Riser is walnut, tips are some kind of exotic wood for pen blanks I got at rockler, a very hard, dense wood. Its sanded with progressively finer grit up to 400, burnished and finished with 10 coats of tung oil and 2 coats of paste wax. hope you like it.
God bless, cody

I gotta say you sure know your beans when it comes to finishing off a bow! With a tiller job as sweet as that, I can see why you take your time making sure it looks professionally finished out.
You got my admiration!

Nice looking bow well done.

That is a beautiful bow. Your finish work is ideal. If this is just your tenth bow we will have a-lot more bows made by you posted on here to see in the future. Thanks for sharing.

Handsome bow. It's great.
-
very nice work! Looks very professionally done. Tips, grip, brace and tiller are all top notch. Overall great bow! :)

Missile: Nicely made bow. Your finish work is how it should be, in my opinion. Some of the best made, designed, character (or not) bows don't quite cut the mustard for me if the finish work is less than par. I feel that if you're gonna devote all the time and sometimes frustration in making these works of art, you must also devote the same time on the finish work. Yay on the 400 grit.
You done good. Keep 'em coming!

Really like the flipped tips; did you use dry heat??
Yes, I used dry heat on the tips. In my opinion, it is easier on the woob cells than steam.
